Adamu Waziri who served as Nigeria’s former ambassador to Turkey died on Monday, April 17.
It was gathered that late Waziri also served as a senator at the sixth National Assembly.
Condoling with Waziri’s family, President Muhammadu Buhari in a statement signed by his spokesperson Femi Adesina said the late senator worked assiduously to improve the conditions of the people of his community and Nigeria as a whole.
He said: “President Buhari joins the diplomatic corps and the National Assembly in mourning the demise of the former diplomat and lawmaker, who worked assiduously to improve the conditions of his community and the country.”
Adesina added that President Buhari extols the humanity, integrity and purposefulness that late Waziri brought to all his responsibilities especially in improving Nigeria’s relations with Turkey.
“President Buhari believes that Waziri’s wise counsels, insight and forthrightness would be sorely missed by his community and the entire country. He sympathizes with his wife, former EFCC boss, Farida Waziri, the children, and the government and people of Gombe State.
The president prays that the almighty God will receive the soul of the departed and grant his loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss,” Adesina said.
